My Office Location Last Time (2007)

With this move it was time again to find a home for my books in my new house. Remember we lived here before for almost four years and during that time I kept the bookshelves in the large living room as you can see in the photo  on the left from back around 2007. My collection had grown considerably since then but I’ve weeded them out recently getting rid of old outdated books and one’s I’d never use. All my books are non-fiction and some just plain old go out of date.  In the place we moved too from this one… last time we lived here (are you confused yet???) I had a whole room for my library which you can see from this  blog post I wrote at the time. The home we moved to next, the last place we lived, had a long room on one side that I partitioned off as my office and made a library area on the other end. You can see that one here.

I wanted to do something different than the last time I lived at this place. It’s a much smaller house so I have to be creative in layout to make the most of the space.  I decided to use the dining room area which I had used as my office before (see photo on upper right), and partitioned it off to make a library nook with a craft room on the other side. I’m pretty tickled with how it turned out. I used book shelves on each side for the wall. Because I weeded down my books they fit fairly nice in the area and there’s even my special chair Jennifer had decorated for me a few years back in the corner to sit on. I’ve got all my shelves labeled by category with gold labels.  I’ve added some fun decor items that I could squeeze on the shelves and of course my large reading faerie on top with various family photos. I also hung two large photos of us dressed as pirates.  Seemed like a good spot for those. I love it.

I had seen something online that I wanted to Incorporated. It was the text “Once Upon a Time” put inside a lamp shade. I found the exact text, cut it out and tacked it to the inside of my lamp shade with spray glue. Looks awesome!  Below are some large photos of my little nook. Pictures of the craft room will be coming soon in another post!  (Remember to subscribe on the top menu if you want notified of my posts)
